A. I could give you the general concept but the rules and regulation would vary which country you are in. Anyway, the general concept is this. assuming you want to insure houses against fire. so you have an actuarian computing the risks and how much policy it is to collect including how many homes you need to collect premiums from. you also have statistician giving you reports on incidents on a given area. so the basic premise is this. assuming you your market is a 100 houses, you target 50% of that and premium is 1000usd. so you have them contributint to a pot in the amount of 50Kusd. and you insure a house depending for fire in the amount of 40usd, so technically you take it our from the pot. so your statistician and actuarian plays… [cont.]

A. When steam touches skin there are really two sources of heat that lead to burns: First, there is the heat released when steam at 100C converts to water at 100C (sometimes called latent heat). This has the larger of the 2 effects. Second, there is the heat ascociated with water 100C cooling to water below the skin burning temperature (about 65C).

What significance does the concept of Nothing hold?
Q. We take it for granted, the concept of zero, the concept of Nothing and Nothingness. But in terms of human history Nothing is a relatively new concept, the idea that there can be a absence of something. So my question is what significance and impact can and does the idea of nothing have on philosophy, religion and general human life? Please explain your answers if possible. Thanks.

A. Great question!! Tough indeed to attempt an answer!! In my view, it is indeed relevant to consider what use is a concept of nothing or zero that is dimensionless and can not be observed or felt in reality... we can only realize emptiness which in fact is unoccupied space and not nothing as such. However, the concept has actually taken Maths to a totally different platform. But for the concept of zero, Maths would have remained mere arithmetic rather than its present role of the key tool to theorize before experimentation. In the absence of Maths, there would be no cosmology, space science and even any Physics worth the name. Philosophically speaking, zero or nothing is the concept that truly makes us understand and discern equivalence… [cont.]
